DAM, YOU WENT TO THE GAMES (CROSSFIT FINALS) LAST YEAR AND AGAIN THIS YEAR?
It’s a massive achievement from the team, we’re the first ever UK Team to qualify for The Games twice, back-to-back and we couldn’t be prouder of our effort! The standard is getting harder and harder every year and so many athletes are full time now, it makes it all the sweeter when we are all part time athletes with full time jobs!
HOW DID SID GO?
CrossFit Strength in Depth (SID) is one of two European CrossFit Gams Semi Finals in which the top 40 teams in Europe battle it out for a spot at The CrossFit Games. Strength in Depth was held in the Excel Arena in London and was the highest attended semi final worldwide this season – so the atmosphere was incredible!
We had a mixed weekend, a few hiccups along the way with two uncharacteristically poor finishes making tough work of it. We knew we had to have our best day on the final day of competition to punch that ticket and the team doubled down and got the job done!
We were pushed all the way by an incredibly tough field and making it through on that last event is a feeling I don’t think any of the team will forget in a hurry!
WHEN ARE THE GAMES?
The CrossFit Games will take place in Madison, Wisconsin on the 3rd – 7th of August which has been the home of the CrossFit Games for the last 3 years.
WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR THE GAMES
If we perform to the best of our ability and as a unit, we know we’ll be tough to beat and that’s all we can do. We can’t control what workouts get programmed, the other teams’ strengths and weaknesses or any other factors other than our preparation, our effort, and our attitude. So, we’ll focus on those things and bring the best versions of ourselves that we can to the party, then we’ll see what happens on the leader board!
HOW DID COMBAT FUEL HELP WITH YOUR NUTRITION DURING COMPETITION?
Having the support of a brand like CF is massive in a competition environment, Cyclic Dextrin and EAAs are a godsend between events when you don’t have long enough to eat but need to get carbs and electrolytes in to recover quickly. Not to mention the pre-workout boost!
